As a purpose-driven founder herself, Nilima Achwal founded Iesha Learning, India's first startup focused on transformative sex education. This revolutionary initiative aimed to combat the rape crisis in India and break through the deep-rooted taboos surrounding gender and sexuality. Iesha Learning has been making a significant impact, currently reaching 600,000 teens in partnership with Tata.

Nilima's contributions to the impact venture space extend beyond her own ventures. She has led accelerators and worked with hundreds of pre-seed founders across the US and emerging markets like India, Africa, and LatAm. One of her notable achievements was the creation and management of the SEED accelerator at Villgro, where an impressive 75% of ventures successfully raised capital. This accomplishment attracted funding from the Rockefeller Foundation.

Furthermore, Nilima Achwal played a pivotal role in promoting cross-continental collaboration and mentorship through her work with the IndiAfrica bootcamp. This initiative brought together young visionary founders from India and Africa, fostering an environment of learning and growth.

With a background as a rigorous researcher and writer of business cases for prestigious business schools like Ross and Kellogg, Nilima possesses a keen ability to identify, analyze, and forecast industry trends accurately.

Her expertise and achievements have garnered widespread recognition, and she has been featured and published in more than 100 publications and given talks worldwide. Media outlets such as CNBC, VICE, TEDx, and The Real Deal have featured her impactful work. Nilima Achwal's appearance on 8 episodes of The Real Deal, a reality show focused on social entrepreneurs in India, helped break taboos surrounding values-based sex education, reaching a staggering 10 million viewers across the country.

Nilima graduated with distinction in Economics and Spanish from the University of Michigan.
