Greg Johnson

Passion & Hobbies: Snow-skier, Traveler, and Adventure Seeker. Greg analyzes data (over 50 million records/day) from the FAA on the aircraft flying over North America through feeds to dedicated servers in his home.

Greg Johnson is President/CEO at Tuvoli, an online trading platform for the private jet / air charter industry that facilitates quoting, instant anytime money movement, and an escrow-like guarantee, through a proprietary patent pending, FDIC insured payment workflow. In essence Tuvoli is a white-labeled bank connected to a transaction engine built for the unique needs of the private aviation industry.

In addition to Tuvoli, Greg also has over-arching responsibility for technology strategy across the Directional Aviation Capital portfolio of companies, which includes Flexjet, Sentient Jet, PrivateFly, and several other companies in the private aviation space.

Delivering the right information to the right people at the right time in order to drive better decisions and therefore better performance has been a common theme for Greg accross multiple businesses over more than two decades.

At FedEx Express Greg led a team of Industrial Engineers tasked with no-holds-barred process improvement across the FedEx system. In one example of Greg’s work, he added software engineers to his team, tapped into shipping data at its source (in the warehouses of shippers like LLBean), and delivered a web-based tool to city stations across the FedEx network that gave them insight into inbound package volume levels up to three days in advance. This proved critical during holiday seasons where volume spikes could be significant.

Greg then founded OneSky Jets, later acquired by Sentient Jet and Directional Aviation Capital. OneSky was one of the first truly digital air charter brokers. Its process driven, technology focused approach to service delivery and online lead generation resulted in strong customer retention, strong margin, and efficient customer acquisition. The Cloud 9 platform built by OneSky still drives the on-demand charter business (since rebranded as PrivateFly) for Directional Aviation.

Greg’s focus and passion is in leading the team at Tuvoli in both executive leadership and in a technical capacity. This role leverages his decades of experience as an entrepreneur and the knowledge that comes from having developed multiple software solutions for companies in the air charter industry.

Greg is an active pilot, snow-skier, traveler, and adventure seeker. He coaches a FIRST Lego League robotics team, and as a hobby, Greg analyzes data (over 50 million records/day) from the FAA on the aircraft flying over North America through feeds to dedicated servers in his home.

Greg holds a bachelor’s degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where he presently serves on the board of advisors for the school’s Center for Entrepreneurship. Greg is also a graduate of FlightSafety Academy where he earned his Commercial, Multi-Engine, Instrument, and Flight Instructor ratings.
